What about other subjects?

What about other subjects?

As well as teaching you about an area of work you’re interested in, you'll still do compulsory subjects as normal.

  • The Diploma doesn't replace existing qualifications
  • Like GCSEs, A levels, NVQs and Apprenticeships
  • It's another option for you to think about
  • And you can still do these qualifications as part of your Diploma course

How about English, maths and ICT?

If you haven't already got English, maths and ICT, then you'll do them as part of your Diploma course (you'll need to pass these to get your qualification.) If you've done them already, then they'll count towards your Diploma qualification.

If you're between 14 and 16 and still at school, you'll also do other subjects like PE and science alongside your Diploma course.

What's different?

  • You learn how English, maths and ICT are used in a work or study situation
  • You can apply them to your Diploma subject area
  • Plus see why you need them for jobs and other courses
